Chadalavada Anandha Sundhararaman Bhavani Devi aka C. A. Bhavani Devi is an Indian saber(fencer). CA Bhavani Devi is the first woman in India to qualify for the Olympics, She made history by becoming the first Indian to win a gold medal at the Senior Commonwealth Fencing Championship in Canberra in the saber event.
She became one of the 15 athletes selected ‘GoSports Foundation’ for the Rahul Dravid Athlete Mentorship Programme, in 2015
She trains in Italy as well as at the Sports Authority of India in Kannur. Her official FIE rank is聽42

Career:
C.A. Bhavani Devi was born in Chennai on 27 August 1993. Her father(Anandha Sundhararaman)聽was a Hindu priest and her mother聽(CA Ramani)聽a homemaker(Bhavani said her mother was her greatest inspiration to pursue her fencing career and she also said that her mother was very supportive and work very hard to arrange money to make Bhavani participate in tournaments ) She has two brothers and two elder sisters.
She did her schooling at Muruga Dhanushkodi Girls and then attended the St. College of Engineering, Chennai after completing her secondary education Bhavani joined the sports authorities of India center in Thalassery, Kerala, Chennai.
At the age of 14, she appeared at her first international tournament in Turkey. C A Bhavani Devi Started her sports career in 2003.
